"Vermin" is the word most other races use to describe the scheming Kobolds, and not just because of their rat-like faces. Conniving and opportunistic, Kobolds can be surprisingly intelligent, but possess the wisdom of an anthill; many of them are convinced magic simply does not exist. Kobolds can only remort into Goblins, and should only be selected by players who are REALLY looking for a challenge.

  • Abbreviation: Kob.
  • Terrible At: everything else.

Comments

Kobolds are made to receive much lower hp and mana gains in spite of relatively average intelligence and constitution (in comparison with a human), making their hp and mana pools actually shallow puddles. For comparison's sake, they receive hp gains comparable to a sprite's hp gains, and their mana gains are comparable, but often worse, than a sprite's hp gains.

Additionally, they enjoy the benefits of much slower regeneration of hp/mana when sleeping.

Moreover, they have a spell cost penalty of 30% while their fail rate is arguably the worst of the races, an impressive 40%.

To make matters further worse, kobolds also have a negative melee damage modifier as well as, naturally, a negative archery modifier. Their stealth modifier is a matter of debate, but their small size could mean they are stealthier than humans, or at least average.

Kobolds low TNL does mean that they can be used as a pathway to a Human remort class.

Make a kobold only if you enjoy the difficulty and overall ineptness of the race (requiring much more effort to accomplish normal tasks), often accompanied by (un)intentional hilarity and ridicule by other players.
