Gnomes typically inhabit rolling, rocky hills that are both well wooded and far from human communities. They are very similar in appearance to dwarves, and are also renowned as excellent miners. Most gnomes have earthy skin tones, whitish hair, and eyes of grey-blue to bright blue. They wear clothing of leather or earth tones, and are fond of jewelry. The typical gnome is short in stature, yet slightly stronger than a human, a little more deft, and tend to be a little bit wiser. Like their dwarven cousins they have somewhat of a resistance to magic but, unlike dwarves, tend to be above average at spellcasting. Because of their tendencies to stay away from humans, they are not completely accepted in human communities. Gnomes can see well in near darkness, an adaptation to their mining lifestyle.

Gnomes have a racial spell cost reduction bonus. You would have to compare a gnome and a human to get an exact number for this, but I think it's 5%.

On top of that, gnomes have an arcane spell cost reduction bonus. Someone with a gnome hero should compare the cost of fort and foci to determine how big of a reduction bonus (percentage-wise) gnomes get on magely spells.

Gnomes are nofail at 98%

Gnomes have good racial stealth, but not as good as Halflings or Sprites. (this is something of a guess. anyone have a gnome rogue to verify?)

Anyone know if gnomes have a damage modifier? To find out you'd have to compare the damage between two characters who wear the same gear and have the same strength, where one is a gnome and one is something else (human?).
