P.S.  One recommendation.  If gear is obtained either by killing a mob or through a ticket quest, then I think that directions to it would probably best be placed on the appropriate mob or quest page rather than on the gear page.  See my recent changes to the Sewer's red dragon gear pages for an example of what I mean by this.  Thanks!  --[[User:DaveGarber1975|Dave Garber]] 16:52, 12 February 2006 (EST)

Thanks, Jon, for your comments today.  I'm glad to hear that my pages looks so snazzy (woo-hoo!).  And, true, it may be a bit more convenient to find directions on gear pages themselves rather than clicking on a link.  I dunno.  Anyway, please do as you think best.  Perhaps it makes little difference one way or the other in this case.  --[[User:DaveGarber1975|Dave Garber]] 12:18, 14 February 2006 (EST)

Revision as of 12:18, 14 February 2006

Great ideas today, Jon! Waite whipped up some great link tables for the gear pages, it seems. As for your Map links idea, I do little projects like that a lot so I can probably take care of them all myself sometime this month. Good thinkin'. Keep it up! Take care, man. --Dave Garber 17:03, 9 February 2006 (EST)

Most, if not all, area links should should now have convenient map links beside them. I liked how you added both Comments and Directions sections to my gear-page format and so I repeated this on a lot of gear pages that I'd tinkered with or added recently. And thanks so much for adding some ZMud scripts--I'm glad that someone finally did! Anyway, take care and thanks for your great contributions. --Dave Garber 15:54, 12 February 2006 (EST)

Hey, Jon! I know what you mean about just copying format from other pages and then changing its information. I didn't know the first thing about Wiki coding several months ago but I've slowly learned a lot by reading helpfiles about it on the Internet, by examining how others have done things here, and by experimenting with pages by changing things on them and then using the Preview button but not the Save button. I've been working hard to devise a standard format for all of my area, mob, and gear entries and I'm gradually getting zeroing in on it, I think. You're more than welcome to use my format anytime, of course. The Wiki's Main Page also links to some basic Format guidelines. I may post some example templates for mob and gear pages sometime, as well, like I did for area categories; we'll see. Anyway, take care! --Dave Garber 16:43, 12 February 2006 (EST)
